Long Beach Branch believes that as design professionals, we need to do our part in promoting buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. The branch collaborates with the key players in this sector, actively promoting energy-efficient and environmentally responsible building designs that will result in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and prevent depletion of our natural resources.
Retail Design Collaborative and Studio One Eleven
Sara Hickman, LEED AP, WELL AP is one of two Program Chairs for the USGBC-LB Committee where she works to develop an event and tours program that aims to highlight the leading certifications and market indicators within our industry. In her full-time position, she is the Sustainability Director for Retail Design Collaborative and Studio One Eleven, a co-branded architectural firm in Long Beach.
Rebecca Ramsdale is the membership chair of the USGBC Long Beach branch. Rebecca is interested in preserving the Earth’s beauty and resources while still supporting human innovation. “The earth is not only inherited from our ancestors, but borrowed from our children.” She brings many ideas from her activities with USGBC back to her workplace to implement on projects and in the office. Rebecca is eager to promote membership in the USGBC Long Beach branch!

With 14 years in the field of Architecture, Construction, and Engineering, Glen’s expertise in green design and building programs has helped a wide range of clients navigate and comply with complex code requirements in order to exceed performance standards on multifamily residential and commercial buildings.

Sustainability Program Manager
Erin Brewster (LEED AP O+M) is the Sustainability Program Manager for the California State University (CSU) Office of the Chancellor in Long Beach. In this role, she coordinates the implementation of the CSU’s Sustainability Policy at the systemwide level and works to integrate climate adaptation and mitigation strategies into their capital planning process.
Kat Janowicz, MSME, MBA, CEM, LEED GA, ENV SP is a leader, strategist, and serial entrepreneur with over twenty years of international experience in commercial and industrial infrastructure for the energy, transportation, goods movement, marine, maritime, and construction sectors.
