Workshop 1: Building Resilience in Our Daily Lives
Building resilience means planning for change in ways that make you better off now. By leveraging and linking the work organizations are already doing on sustainability, risk management, emergency preparedness and business continuity, you can create new opportunities that improve the public good and the bottom line. USGBC-LAâs Building Resilience-LA program has developed a methodology for busting silos and unleashing potential of buildings, organizations and communities so that they can adapt and thrive no matter what disruptions come their way.
WORKSHOP 1: "What is Resilience?"
This first workshop will introduce the concepts of resilience and how it plays out in our everyday lives. Consider the recent fires, floods, and weather-related disasters and how each of us has been effected. What if we could know what makes our communities vulnerable and could plan plan ahead to prepare for change? What if, in planning ahead, we could unleash new opportunities today?
