The Green Schools Committee galvanizes community members around improving the health, wellness, beauty and efficiency of their local schools. Members of the Green Schools Committee communicate with the Center for Green Schools to organize local projects for the Green Apple Day of Service. Green Apple Day is a way to empower students, parents, and teachers to be champions at their campuses for sustainability at their campuses. Over 50 projects are organized to green school sites in our region and include garden builds, solar installations, and beautification programs. Committee members have also created a specialized curriculum covering Indoor Air Quality and conducted workshops for over 4,000 students.
