Industry tends to promote diversion as the most important aspect in construction and demolition residuals management. But a small component (less than 5%) is composed of toxic substances such as electronics, asbestos-containing materials, chemically treated materials, mercury switches, etc. This webinar would cover issues in both construction and in demolition about toxins in the trash and best practices to assure that these substances are handled appropriately.



About the Presenters

Jon Huls is a professor of Zero Waste and sustainability officer in the construction and demolition industry. Jon worked with many municipalities on C&D debris recycling, including the roll out of the LA County DPW C&D waste recycling program.
