Become an Envision Professional

The Envision Framework is a globally recognized approach to sustainable infrastructure and certification process. The ENV SP designation is becoming an increasingly important credential for any professional involved in urban planning, sustainability planning, civil infrastructure, and many more fields. Learn about the overlapping and mutual benefits from implementing sustainability infrastructure practices. Since its inception, more than 8,000 professionals have obtained their ENV SP credential, which has equipped them with the knowledge to apply the ground-breaking Envision concepts to their daily work.

Credentialing Process

ENV SP candidates are required to complete the official ENV SP training course and pass a comprehensive written exam. The ENV SP training is currently offered as an online course workshop. Completion of the course is a prerequisite for taking the exam. The ENV SP training is designed to educate candidates on the Envision certification program. After completing the training candidates will understand how Envision works, how it can improve the sustainability of their projects, and be able to successfully apply it to assess project sustainability.

About Presenters

 

Dr. Akima Cornell

 

Dr. Akima Cornell, ENV SP, GPRO, is a sustainability expert and project manager with over fifteen years of experience developing and evaluating policies and projects related to climate change and sustainability, working on policies in the United States, the UNFCCC, and for local governments. Dr. Cornell is the principal and owner of Akima Consulting, LLC, a small women-owned business and an industry leader in the areas of community, transportation, and sustainability planning. Akima Consulting, LLC has policy and project experience, assisting public agencies, municipalities, private businesses, and non-profit organizations in creating innovative sustainable solutions to environmental, social, and economic challenges. Dr. Cornell received her Ph.D. in policy and statistics from the University of Essex in England. Dr. Cornell has published several papers and writings on sustainability and is a frequent speaker and panelist at numerous conferences nationwide.
